Terms of use

General terms and conditions of use of website and our services.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Far & High Adventure Travel website (“the Site”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines posted on the Site. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of the Site. We may update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Site signifies acceptance of the revised terms.

Use of the Website

This Site is intended for personal, non‑commercial use related to researching or booking travel with Far & High Adventure Travel. By using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activities

  • Interfere with the Site’s functionality, security, or performance

  • Copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute content without written permission

  • Use automated tools (such as bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to collect data

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Site at our discretion.

Accuracy of Information

The Site provides general information about our destinations, itineraries, pricing, and services. While we strive to keep content accurate and current, travel conditions and supplier information may change without notice. We do not guarantee that all information is complete, error‑free, or up to date, and we are not responsible for inaccuracies caused by third‑party suppliers, government changes, or unforeseen circumstances. Use of the Site and its information is at your own risk.

Bookings, Payments & Supplier Terms

All bookings made through Far & High Adventure Travel are subject to availability and confirmation. By booking a trip, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal and payment information

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of airlines, hotels, local operators, and other suppliers

  • Pay all required deposits and balances by the stated deadlines

Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in cancellation of your reservation.

Payment Schedule

Tour Deposit: US$300 per person or 15% of total invoice whichever is higher.

If your trip includes internal air tickets, we may need to issue those tickets within the deadline set by the airlines. In such cases, we may request the cost of the ticket along with the tour deposit. After receiving your deposit, we will begin processing internal air tickets and hotel reservations and will provide confirmation within one week. If certain internal airfares require immediate purchase, we will ask you to wire the payment. Some hotels and suppliers may also require a non‑refundable deposit to guarantee the booking; if so, we will include this amount in your second payment.

Balance Payment

The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to departure. If your trip involves internal air or train tickets, we may request payment for those tickets at the time of booking to secure the lowest available fare. Credit card payments incur an additional 3.5% fee. We accept payments only from the traveler’s own account, and we reserve the right to refuse certain forms of payment. All wire transfer fees must be covered by the traveler.

Cancellation and Refund

All cancellation notices and refund requests must be submitted in writing.
Cancellation Charges

  • 90 days prior to departure: Administrative fee of US$150 per person

  • 60–89 days prior to departure: US$300 or 25% of the land cost, whichever is higher

  • 45–59 days prior to departure: US$450 or 50% of the land cost, whichever is higher

  • Less than 45 days: 100% of the land cost is non‑refundable

  • Refunds for air tickets will follow the rules and regulations of the issuing airline. A service charge of US$25 per ticket segment will also apply.

  • Cancellation terms for certain services may vary and will be communicated on a case‑by‑case basis.

  • No refund or credit will be issued for unused land or air services for any reason once the tour has begun. We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Far & High Adventure Travel (hereafter referred to as “Far & High”) reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason, including insufficient enrollment or logistical issues that may affect trip operations. We also reserve the right to refuse participation to any traveler, with or without explanation. Please do not purchase your international airfare until we have confirmed your participation.

If a trip is canceled due to force majeure (including but not limited to acts of God, war, labor strikes, earthquakes, flooding, or government actions), Far & High will promptly refund the portion of the trip cost not already paid to suppliers and will make every effort to recover and refund the remaining balance as quickly as possible. However, we cannot guarantee recovery of all advance payments, and our efforts do not include initiating legal proceedings in foreign jurisdictions.

Far & High is not responsible for expenses incurred by travelers in preparation for a canceled trip (such as non‑refundable airfare, visa fees, vaccinations, or equipment purchases), nor for any additional arrangements made if a traveler has already begun their journey before the scheduled group departure date. Travel insurance fees, visa fees, and visa handling fees are non‑refundable. Because most airline tickets are discounted, refunds may be subject to penalties, may not reflect the full ticket value, and may require prepayment of a processing fee to Far & High.

Traveler Responsibilities

Trip members are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit and medically prepared for the activities outlined in the itinerary. They must obtain all required travel documents, including valid passports, visas, permits, vaccinations, and travel insurance. Throughout the journey, travelers are expected to follow all safety instructions provided by guides and staff, as well as respect and comply with local laws, customs, and cultural norms. Far & High Adventure Travel is not liable for consequences arising from your failure to meet these responsibilities.

Trip members are expected to treat fellow travelers and staff with courtesy and respect at all times, regardless of gender, race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or nationality. Drinking or smoking inside the tour vehicle is strictly prohibited.

If a participant is deemed physically or mentally unfit to continue, or if their behavior disrupts the group or compromises safety, the guide has the authority to remove them from the trip. Any associated costs will be the traveler’s responsibility, and no refund will be issued.

It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the entry requirements for the country you plan to visit. Booking a trip with us does not guarantee that visas or travel permits will be approved. In some destinations, we may be required to apply for your visa or permits on your behalf, but approval is not guaranteed, and we cannot be held liable if they are denied.

If you are a journalist, government official, or diplomat, please indicate this on your trip registration form, as it may affect permit or visa processing

Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk

Adventure travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to altitude sickness, weather extremes, natural hazards, political instability, and transportation delays. While we take reasonable precautions, such as using trained guides and appropriate safety measures, you participate at your own risk. We may modify or cancel itineraries if safety, environmental, or political conditions require it.

We may share information with authorized agents, suppliers, or government authorities involved in booking your travel or issuing required permits. Information may also be shared with government agencies or partners for fraud prevention or investigation when permitted or required by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Far & High Adventure Travel is not liable for:

  • Injuries, losses, or damages resulting from travel activities

  • Delays, cancellations, or changes caused by third‑party suppliers

  • Acts of nature, political unrest, or events beyond our control

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site
